Product Description

Comprehensive, Rigorous Prep for the LSAT (With Software and Free Online Course)

You no longer need to worry whether the problems you are studying are like those on the LSAT. Now, you can study actual LSAT problems! MASTER THE LSAT contains detailed solutions to numerous actual LSAT questions, carefully selected to illustrate every type of question that has appeared on the test in the past several years, including a thorough analysis of two complete LSATs.

The LSAT is an aptitude test. Like all aptitude tests, it must choose a medium in which to measure intellectual ability. The LSAT has chosen logic. Although this makes the LSAT hard, it also makes the test predictable--it is based on fundamental principles of logic. MASTER THE LSAT analyzes and codifies these basic principles: the contrapositive, the if-then, pivotal words, etc. Armed with this knowledge, you will have the ability to greatly increase your score.

Features:

Analytical Reasoning: Learn powerful diagramming techniques and step-by-step strategies to solve every type of game question that has appeared on the LSAT.

Logical Reasoning: Discover the underlying simplicity of these problems and learn the principles of logic these questions are based on.

Reading Comprehension: Develop the ability to spot places from which questions are likely to be drawn as you read a passage (pivotal words, counter-premises, etc.).

Also includes a Free online Course!

Course Features:

Ask Questions! Our instructors monitor StudyDesk to answer your questions. StudyDesk also records the step where you make a mistake or ask a question. This is just one of many powerful educational tools in StudyDesk.

Highly Interactive: You can search the course for any topic, take notes, view solutions, view reports, and each time you return to the course it presents the last topic you were studying.

Also includes test prep Software!

Software Features:

Mentor Mode: In Mentor Mode, you are immediately told whether you answered a problem correctly, and you can immediately view a detailed solution of the problem.

Test Mode: In Test Mode, you can take a test timed and scored by the program.

Rating: - LSAT Test Review
I couldn't afford to take a full on LSAT course- so I opted for the books instead. I absolutely felt that this book adequately prepared me for the test. If you can't spend the money, but can put the time in- then this book is absolutely for you!

Rating: - Utterly superior
I am currently teaching an LSAT prep course at an adult education center. I fell into this, and have developed many of my own materials, which I am pretty proud of. But I will probably replace them with this book.

Master the LSAT is vastly better than Kaplan or McGraw-Hill's Curvebreakers (the two other books I've looked at in depth). I wonder why it isn't in every bookstore; the only reason I've thought of is that is plunges right into the test, without spending time on quelling test anxiety. This book assumes you are pretty bright and will work. But it is not difficult to read; in fact, the writing is clear, penetrating, even elegant. You do not need to be a genius to profit greatly from this book.

No other book I've looked at even comes close.

Rating: - Good Seller
I received this prep book in a timely manner. It arrived as described. Good seller.

Rating: - Fantastic.
I bought this LSAT review book in addition to a couple others because of the great reviews this one got and I am so glad I did. Instead of giving you the "insiders secrets" which don't actually exist, this book takes a different approach and analyzes the questions and the way to go about them in detail. The games section breaks down the different types of games and focuses on effective diagramming for each category of question, which is very helpful as a practical approach to tackling the games. The same logical breakdown of the approach to answering the questions is given for the logical reasoning and reading comprehension sections. There are lots of practice questions and explanations for those questions throughout the entire book. The only caveat I would say is that it advertises that there are two full length official LSATs for you to practice. However, one of them is broken up and follows each of the sections of the book (The games part of the official LSAT follows the games section of the book). This isn't a problem except that once you do each of those parts and get your raw score, there is no rubric in the book to convert that score to an offical LSAT score. As for the second full length test, it is the exact same test as the first test in the "10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests" book, so by the time I went to do the test in this book, I was very disappointed to find out that I had already done it. Get the book for the really helpful sections about how to best approach the questions and break them down, but make sure to get some additional books with official LSAT tests.

Rating: - Great LSAT prep
I scored 156 on my first practice test, and after reading this book I am consistently scoring 168-170. The LSAT is very learnable, and with enough practice a person can learn how it is constructed, and how correct answers are obfuscated. I used this book, Powerscore's Logic Games Bible, and McGraw Hill's 2010 edition study guide. Now I am able to complete LSAT practice tests quicker (which is key!), and with much less stress. As I stated earlier, my score has also improved since I used this study guide. I think it is in large part b/c of this book: this book spells out in great detail the "why" and the "how." It helped me understand what I was doing wrong. It is a great buy, but only for those who are willing to read through the minutiae. This book is very dense, but on the bright side it does provide practice questions after each section, and full AR, LR and RC sections to practice on. Those who want a quick and dirty book of tips should look elsewhere.
