Started on July 10, 2003, Wikibooks is a collection of free or open-content textbooks, annotated texts, instructional guides and manuals. These materials can be used in a traditional classroom, an accredited or respected institution, a home-school environment or for self-learning. Most types of books, both fiction and non-fiction are not allowed, unless they are instructional. Wikibooks has two sub-projects; Wikijunior which is aimed at children and the Cookbook which is a collection of recipes and culinary topics. Also known as the Agensi Kelayakan Malaysia (AKM) in Malay term. Officially launched on November 2, 2007. Established under the Malaysian Qualifications Agency Act 2007, a result of merger between National Accreditation Board (Lembaga Akreditasi Negara-LAN) and Quality Assurance Division (QAD) of the Ministry of Higher Education. QAD was established in April, 2002 while LAN was established on July 8, 1996 through the National Accreditation Board Act 1996 (repealed in 2007) as a statutory body. MQA will implement the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF), a unified system and reference point for all national qualifications which would be a basis for quality assurance in higher education that matched with the international benchmark. Also known as Daftar Kelayakan Malaysia in Malay term. Officially launched on January 5, 2008. A one-stop reference centre under the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) will serve as a source of information for local and foreign students. MQR provides information on accredited courses in public and private institutions of higher learning. Parents can check if the courses their children are interested in are accredited by the Government. » National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) Open National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) in New Window
Commonly known as the Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) in Malay term. Established on July 1, 1997 under the National Higher Education Fund Act 1997. PTPTN offers and gives education loans in the form of financial assistance to students, and to provide administrative, supervisory and collection of loan settlement services. PTPTN Education Loan Scheme provides education loans to students pursuing their studies in local institutions of higher learning (IPT). PTPTN also collects deposits, design and offer saving schemes for the purpose of saving for higher education. Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional-SSPN is a savings scheme which puts emphasis on Savings Towards Higher Education. The official site of PTPTN features loan application method, loan offer and payment; SSPN savings privileges, e-SSPN, insurance coverage and opening an account; check on loan application, SMS, repayment, courses and borrowers not eligible; FAQs; and forms and schedules.
