Also known as the Social Institute of Malaysia in English term. The campus of ISM, completed in July 2001, is located in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur. Institut Sosial Malaysia (ISM) was set up to promote professional and semi-professional training in the field of training and research as well as social education to all social workers from various levels from within and outside the country including non-governmental organisations (NGOs). ISM is an agency under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM). It facilitates the Government in its implementation of its National Social Policy. Also known as the Social Welfare Department Malaysia (SWDM) in English term. JKMM is a department under the purview of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Malaysia. Established in 1946 with the task to create a caring and prosperous Malaysian society. Most of its officers are former soldiers and staff from organisations such as the Salvation Army and the Red Cross. JKMM deals mainly with welfare services and provides protection and rehabilitation to targeted group namely children below 18 years, the aged 60 years and above, the poor, families, the disabled and victims of natural disasters.

Also known as the Malaysian Diabetes Association in English term. Officially established on June 13, 1983. PDM is a social association with the aim of providing social services to diabetics and establish a centre for dissemination of information on diabetes. PDM makes available equipments such as syringes, needles, blood glucose testing machine and test strips to its members at prices below retail prices. PDM also conducts counselling sessions, public forums and talks and education classes. Commonly known as the Jabatan Pendaftaran Pertubuhan Malaysia (JPPM) in Malay term. Established in 1949 to deal with security threats in Malaysia. Registrar of Societies (ROS) is a regulatory department under the Ministry of Home Affairs. ROS is primarily concerned with the registration, control and supervision of as well as the maintenance of records pertaining to registered non-governmental organisations and its branches and political parties throughout Malaysia so that they do not adversely affect security, public order or morality in the country. ROS carries out enforcement activities governed by the Societies Act 1966 (Akta Pertubuhan 1966) and Societies Regulations 1984 (Peraturan-peraturan Pertubuhan 1984).
