Financial Fraud Alert (Bank Negara Malaysia)
Beware of fraudulent telephone calls requesting personal banking information. Members of the public are reminded to never disclose their PIN and passwords to third parties under any circumstances. Bank Negara Malaysia and commercial banks will never and will not request for personal banking information through telephone calls or advise members of the public to transfer monies to a third party account. Members of the public are advised not to respond to such requests and should contact their respective banks immediately to seek clarifications. Accountant General's Department
Commonly known as the Jabatan Akauntan Negara Malaysia (JANM) in Malay term. Established before 1957 (independence) with the creation of the post of Accountant General under the Ministry of Finance, which was first held by Mr. G.G.T Browne in 1946. The post was first time filled by a Malaysian in 1967. The objectives of the department are to enhance accountability and transparency in Federal Government's accounting and financial management; to enhance accounting and financial management system for all government agencies; to assist government in making effective decisions; to develop and implement human resource management system for the accounting system; and to enhance the enforcement of the Unclaimed Monies Act 1965.
