Also known as the Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS), Malaysia in Malay term. The history of the Ministry dates back to 1953 with the establishment of the Culture Division under the Social Welfare Department, which was responsible for issues related to youth. In 1964, the Division was placed under the Ministry of Information. Subsequently, the Youth and Sports Divisions were formed respectively. The Ministry of Youth and Sports was established on May 15, 1964 in conjunction with the National Youth Day. In 1972, the Culture Division was formed and the Ministry was renamed Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. It was again renamed the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 1987 and entrusted to implement the national policy for youth and sports development. The KBS official website features facilities (Sports Complex, Rakan Muda Complex), training centres, online applications (eBooking System, IKBN Application), forms (Sports body registration, Youth Economics Fund) and agencies directory.

» Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) Open Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) in New Window
Commonly known as the Majlis Belia Malaysia (MBM) in Malay. MBM is the national umbrella body of youth organisations in Malaysia. The council was established on July 23, 1948 and has over three million members. MBM aims to instill in Malaysian youths an integrated character in terms of mind, body and spirit. It also promotes responsibility, independence, volunteerism and patriotism. The MBM focuses on the demands of youths to be heard, their issues to be addressed and their roles upgraded. Its main target is to established integrated and inter-sectoral youth development to determine national development and revive the youth movement to build a strong Malaysian youth identity.
