Also commonly known as the Kementerian Sains Teknologi dan Inovasi in Malay term. Established in 1973 as the Ministry of Technology, Research and Local Government. Additional responsibility as the lead agency pertaining to environmental matters, the Ministry then assumed its name Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (MOSTE) in 1976. On Mar 27, 2004, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MOSTI) was formed after the restructuring of MOSTE.

Agensi Angkasa Negara (ANGKASA)
Also known as the National Space Agency of Malaysia in English. Established in 2002. Space Science Studies (BAKSA), established in 1993, was amalgamated into ANGKASA in 2004. The Malaysian National Space Agency (ANGKASA), an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations, is responsible in leading and observing the development of spcae science in Malaysia through providing leadership in the educational aspect and the research of space science; assisting the government in formulating and executing the National Space Fundamentals; and providing quality service to customers to help archieve these goals. Bahagian Bioteknologi Kebangsaan (BIOTEK Malaysia)
Also known as the National Biotechnology Directorate in English term. A division under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations. The main objectives of BIOTEK are implement, coordinate, monitor and update on the National Biotechnology policy and strategic planning; identify programmes and activities as well as providing financial resources, physical infrastructure, consultancy and technical supports for the Biotechnology R&D; develop human capital programmes for the biotechnology field to elevate research ability and nation development; biotechnology collaboration linkages between local and international research institutions; assist and coordinate technology transfer from the government-funded researches to the industry; develop and sustain database, information and knowledge in the biotechnology field; and encourage public awareness and understanding in biotechnology.
