Jabatan Tenaga Manusia (JTM)
Also known as the Manpower Department in English term. Established in 1967. Previously known as the Jabatan Tenaga Rakyat-JTR until renamed Jabatan Tenaga Manusia-JTM in early 2000. One of the governmet agencies, which conduct training programmes in order to produce a competitive and skilled industrial workforce and instructors. JTM operates over 27 skill training institutes throughout Malaysia including Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC), Japan-Malaysia Technical Institute (JMTI), Centre For Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST) and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
Also known as the Institut Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan Negara in Malay term. NIOSH was established as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Ministry of Human Resources and launched on December 1, 1992. NIOSH serves as the backbone to create a self-regulating occupational safety and health culture in Malaysia. Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB)
Established in 1993 as a statutory body under the Ministry of Human Resources, known as the Human Resources Development Council-HRDC (Majlis Pembangunan Sumber Manusia-MPSM). HRDC was corporatised on May 16, 2001 and known as Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad-PSMB. The main objective of the PSMB is the imposition and collection of a human resources development levy from the employers for the purpose of promoting training of employees in workplace. PSMB also administers the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) and acts as a one-stop agency for all government-sponsored training programmes. Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK)
Also known as the Skills Development Fund Corporation in English term. A statutory body under the Ministry of Human Resources. The Skills Development Fund (SDF) or Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (TPK) was established on December 14, 2000 as a Trust Fund under the Financial Procedure Act 1957 to finance loans for skill training. The Skill Development Fund Division (SDFD) was set up on January 1, 2001 to manage the SDF until June 1, 2006 when the Skills Development Act 2004 (Akta Taung Pembangunan Kemahiran 2004) came into effect following the corporatisation of SDFD.
