Badan Pencegah Rasuah (BPR) Malaysia
Also known as the Anti-Corruption Agency in English term. An agency under the Prime Minister's Department. Started operation on October 1, 1957 as a Department. Prior to that, it was only a small unit under the PM's Department, conducting anti-corruption activities especially organising talks. Investigation of corruption cases were conducted by Special Crime Branch under the Police Department. On July 1, 1973, National Bureau of Investigation Act (Akta Biro Siasatan Negara-BSN) was implemented and Anti-Corruption Agency (Badan Pencegah Rasuah-BPR) was renamed National Bureau of Investigation (BSN). It was renamed Anti-Corruption Agency (BPR) again on May 13, 1982 when the Anti-Corruption Agency Act 1982 (Akta Badan Pencegah Rasuah) was enforced. The Act was repealed by the Anti-Corruption Act in 1997. Pasukan Petugas Khas Pemudahcara Perniagaan (PEMUDAH)
Also known as the Special Taskforce to Facilitate Business in English term. Established on February 7, 2007. PEMUDAH is a public-private sector initiative which aims to simplify business operations in Malaysia by improving government services. Reporting directly to the Prime Minister, the team comprises of highly respected individuals from private and public sectors. The PEMUDAH's work scopes are to facilitate businesses by identifying improvements to existing Government processes and regulations, based on public feedback and global benchmarking reports; to oversee the implementation of identified improvements; and to recommend business-related policy changes to the Cabinet, based on public feedback. PEMUDAH initial focus areas are dealing with licences, enforcing contracts, starting a business and registering property. You can lodge a report or submit feedback on business related delivery issues in Malaysia.
