This program works with MP3, MPEG, AVI, ASF, MOV, JPEG, GIF, and all other file types, and it contains advanced features such as bandwidth controls for uploads, enhanced connection management, and user-defined family filter controls.
BearShare also supports swarmed transfers from multiple sources. It features file hashing, the ability to find more sources for file downloads, and auto-detection of firewall settings and IP addresses.
The new BearShare is a milestone for P2P file-sharing programs. The first change you'll notice is the transition from a tabbed interface to a more intuitive Weblike toolbar interface, as well as a revised, more convenient search interface with support for multiple searches. There is also a new floating indicator window with balloons that lets you work on other things while keeping an eye on BearShare's activities.
You can also control the percentage of bandwidth used to share files, allowing you to measure a balance between sharing and surfing online.
